RONHILL - Women's Tech Race Vest
DESCRIPTION:
The mesh race vest was one of the initial products Ron pioneered back in the early 1970’s alongside the split race shorts. The product at the time wasn’t designed for purpose. Cotton vests were staple items worn to run in, which held onto sweat and became heavy; the very antithesis of what you wanted. Through research, experience, and a desire to make a vest that you could actually run and perform in, Ron set about producing what runners needed. Lightweight, breathable, and high-wicking fabrics were sourced and produced, resulting in the mesh running vest.
Today, whilst fabrics have evolved, the principles of what Ron pioneered over 50 years ago can be found in our Tech Race Vest.
It is the lightest and most technical vest we have ever produced - 49 grams (size 10). We have included bonded seams across the whole product, which are free of all stitching and give a light, clean finish. The back features a different mesh structure fabric, which allows for maximum breathability and comfort. Whilst the racer back shaping is designed not to interfere with arm movement or cause any rubbing of the shoulder blades.

Race
Racing is deeply within our DNA. Our founder and inspiration, Ron Hill, was the first Briton to win the Boston Marathon in a course record of 2:10:30 and became the second man to break 2:10 for the marathon, winning the marathon at the Commonwealth Games in 1970 in 2:09:28. Ron was also a triple Olympian competing in Tokyo ’64, Mexico City ’68, and Munich ’72.
Running was a larger-than-life passion for Ron and can be defined by his run streak that lasted for 52 years and 39 days of consecutive running.
